I am very thankful to report that God has been doing above and beyond what we could have expected in this little corner of South Sudan! Though the roads are very challenging and the heat taxing, the compound on the top of the plateau is going up and coming together.
The missionaries will be living in a multi-roomed canvas tent and that has been put up with many chains to anchor and secure it as you can see in this photo. They are busy working on many other projects while Eli took a few days drive to transport some people back to Kapoeta and then to pick up another load of the missionaries' belongings. So he has done a LOT of driving. We praise God for safety because roads in South Sudan are no joke.
In this photo you can see the type of "fence" the Toposa people use to keep wild animals out of their compound - thorn bushes piled up and stuck together. I sure wouldn't want to try to get through that!
This man has been hired to be the guard for the missionary compound. He has decided to build his own house right outside of the base. You can see how this people group build their homes. He is standing with his three wives - yes you heard me right - 3 wives!
